  Introduction

After various non-permanent establishments and by 1905, Las Vegas city was established with 110 Acres of land owned by state senator of Montana, William A. Clark’s San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake railroad. In its beginnings the town was a railroad stopover town for the pioneers that ventured to the west, during the whole of the 1800, when the main transportation moved from the railroads to the highways, and with no highways nearby, Las Vegas economy stooped and many locals started relocating to better lands. It wasn’t until the construction of the Hover Dam, that the town started to see growth again of residents and of tourist that came to the many attractions destined to the worker on the Hover Dam, mostly for entertainment like: dancing clubs and lotteries which were made legal by the lottery operators due to a loophole on the anti-gambling laws. The name of Las Vegas came from the first settlers of the area with were the Spanish Rafael Rivera (1829), and it’s a description in Spanish of the place which he saw when he came to the place, Vegas with is meadows.

With the largest quantity of rooms of any street or tourist destination and 19 of 25 most famous Casinos in the world, Las Vegas Strip have became a tourist destination on its own to the grade that it has received the award of All American Road, which is a distinction awarded by the United States Department of Transportation to the roads that area unique in the United States and that have a scenic quality that has all the requirements to became a tourist destination on its own.
